What is ESEDARS?

ESEDARS is a patented system that is an AI-powered service platform and a tele-care clinic at home for each individual at risk for stroke and heart attack. It can do following things for you:

1. assessing you risk level of stroke and heart attack.

2. checking warning signs and symptoms of stroke and heart attack so you can receive timely treatment before occurring to save your live and money.

3. providing instant access to care within 1 minute during an emergency.

Our Mission: We are dedicated to apply the technologies of artificial intelligence (AI) to reduce the mortality and disabilities from cardiovascular disease (CVD) and other preventable diseases. 

Goals: to reduce the CVD mortality by 1%  to 10% within next five to ten years, which counts for about 8,000  to 80,000 American lives saved annually.

2018:

• Prototyped and developed the AI platform for early detection, alert, and response of emergency vital signs with the help of Zhejiang Daba Technology Co., Ltd.

2019:

• Started to apply for patents for the disease emergency response, emergency rescue, and management system.

2020:

• Obtained two US patents for disease emergency response, emergency rescue, and management system.

2021:

• The company was founded.

2022:

• Obtained another  US patent for the world's first AI-based early detection, alert, and response system for emergency vital signs (ESEDARS).

2023:

• Completed the development of the software platform and App for the world's first AI-based early detection, alert, and response system for emergency vital signs.
• In the process of applying for US FDA market access for the software platform and App.

2024 

• Built a strong team with a successful business leader with expereince of 2-times IPOs at NASDAQ, an emrgency doctor, an prevention expert, an eletctronic engineer experts, an AI/IT expert, and a retire senior executive from IBM.
• Our portable emergency response devices are in manufacure process and ready to be marketed by the end of December, 2024.

We are a Georgia-based startup company holding three US patents and one Chinese patent for a cutting-edge healthcare system. This system combines AI-powered platforms (ESEDARS and CARE-RMS), a mobile app, emergency response devices, and diagnostic tools. Notably, all hardware components are FDA Class II medical devices, with FDA clearance awarded to our partnering manufacturers. Our software (app and service platform) is in pilot test. Our portable emergency response devices are in manufacure process and ready to be marketed by the end of December, 2024.

Our founder is a retired senior epidemiologist who was trained as a medical doctor and has more than 20 years experience in disease control and prevention. He also dedicated 10 ten years of his professional career doing research on the risk factor of CVD mortality. 

Our leadership team includes business leader who has successfully led two startups to IPOs, an AI/IT expert, an emergency medicine doctor, one senior advisor with executive level experience at IBM, and one senior adviser with 30+ year of disease prevention.  

Dr. John Wen is the founder and CEO of ESEDARS Inc. A former CDC Senior Epidemiologist with 20 years of experience in disease control and prevention, he received 12 years of training as a medical doctor with a certificate from US Education Commission of Foreign Medical Graduates. With over 40 scientific publications and 10 years dedicated to research on the risk factors of cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality, he is a distinguished researcher. Dr. Wen was awarded the Honor Award for Distinguished Services by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. He also holds four intellectual properties (IPs) related to emergency response for CVD using artificial intelligence technology. Driven by the loss of his father and grandmother to strokes, Dr. Wen is on a mission to reduce stroke and heart attack mortality and disability.

Owen Carton, COO,  is a highly accomplished software and investment leader with experience in privately held, public, venture capital-backed, and technology companies. He has led multiple companies and successfully guided two startups to IPOs. His experience spans organizations ranging from startups to $168 billion global businesses. Mr. Carton has a proven track record of managing revenue goals of up to $250 million and operational budgets of up to $25 million. He is a pragmatic and focused mentor and manager with a talent for attracting, recruiting, and advising teams of up to 50 people. He has consistently established infrastructure that accelerates performance in diverse economic environments. Mr. Carton holds a Master of International Business (accredited) and a BCS degree in Computing. He also brings ten years of valuable working experience at Microsoft.

Dr. Ming Jiang, PHD, Chief Product Development Officer, has a Ph. D of Electronic Engineering from Florida University. He is a patent attorney specializing in digital signal processing, voice signal processing, digital communication systems, and electrical engineering. He is the founder of MM IP Service LLC that provided IP services and patent applications to countries all over the world. The scope of service includes electrical engineering, computer engineering, communications engineering, mechanical engineering, artificial intelligence, computer software and hardware, electronic devices, medical devices, mobile and wireless communications equipment, cloud computing, cloud storage, semiconductors, communications and network technology, new energy, Internet and e-commerce technology.

Dr. Albert Zhou, MD, Chief Medical Officer, is a practicing medical doctor in the USA with several years of experience in emergency medicine. He graduated from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and completed residency training at Morristown Medical Center. He has published 10 medical research papers.

Ms. Min Shi, Chief Technology Officer, has 10+ yrs of experience in leading large & medium-sized software development, specializing in AI technology of facial and voice recognition . She has Masters of electrical and computer engineering & Masters of telecommunication engineering. 

Ms.  Hui Hung has 10+ years of audit, risk, financial transformation, and internal controls experience serving the federal and financial services industry sectors. Ms. Hung is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), a Project Management Professional (PMP), and Certified AWS Cloud Practitioner. Her extensive domain experience includes leading and performing financial statement audits with a focus in providing assurance within  technology infrastructure environments using both the NIST cybersecurity framework and the Federal Information Systems Audit Manual (FISCAM) framework, and leading business process improvements. She graduated from  University of Notre Dame, Mendoza College of Business '10.

Todd Kirtley, Director of ESEDARS Advisory Board, a retired senior executive at IBM with 38 years of experience. Throughout his impressive career, Mr. Kirtley has held various leadership positions across different sectors of the IT industry. Highlights include 10 years in direct sales and sales management, primarily focused on the communications industry. He then transitioned to leading IBM services and outsourcing for a decade, holding general management roles in both the United States and Latin America. Mr. Kirtley's leadership prowess extends further, encompassing 5 years as a senior executive with full P&L responsibility for IBM in Japan, Asia Pacific, and the United States. Notably, he had 10 years executive experience at IBM's largest global alliances worldwide. Overall, Mr. Kirtley brings a wealth of knowledge and 23 years of executive experience to the table.

Dr. Robert Bernstein   MD, MPH, PhD, FACPM, is a medical doctor  with >30 years of international Public Health, Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine experience in >20 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East, Dr. Bernstein serves as a consultant for public and private sector Aid and Health agencies, and lectured at US, Singaporean, and Indonesian schools of Medicine and Public Health.  He had experiences with successful high-profile assignments that included briefings for the CDC Director, the US President, the FEMA Director, and assistance for other top leaders of US and international government organizations,  WHO, UNICEF, UNDP, ADB, and the World Bank.
